About

Sitting in Bluestone Lane Coffee at Harvard Square, watching the rare Boston snow drift down outside. As an Aussie founder, it feels surreal sipping Melbourne-style coffee while American students rush past bundled up in their winter coats. My wife's colleagues tell us we're lucky - white Christmases aren't common here.

Between planning AYLA's 2025 roadmap and processing all the conversations with Harvard and MIT professors and researchers these past few days, I felt an urge to start writing. To capture these thoughts, these possibilities. The more I talk with people about these ideas, the more convinced I am that we need collective wisdom to shape what's next.

Hi, I'm George 👋

I'm fascinated by emergence - how complex systems naturally arise from simple interactions. Think about how birds create mesmerizing patterns in flight without a conductor, or how vibrant cities develop their unique character over time. As a product leader and founder, I see similar patterns emerging in the world of AI and organizations.

At AYLA, we're exploring how organizations might evolve in the AI era. We're building organisational AI systems that exhibit life-like characteristics: they learn, adapt, and collaborate naturally. Our work suggests that future organizations might function more like living organisms than traditional hierarchies.

This space is where I share:

  • Research and insights on organizational AI as living systems
  • Perspectives on solving complex global challenges through systemic approaches
  • Practical lessons from building AI systems at AYLA
  • Reflections from discussions with researchers and practitioners at Harvard, MIT, and beyond

My journey spans commerce, product management, and entrepreneurship. Starting from a commerce background, I've evolved through product leadership roles to founding AYLA, where we're reimagining how AI can transform organizations. Currently, while building AYLA, I'm fortunate to be engaging with thought leaders at Harvard and MIT, where my wife is a visiting scholar. These conversations have deeply influenced my thinking about how thoughtfully designed systems could reshape our organizations and society.

Here, you'll find a blend of theoretical insights and practical experiences, written for both technical and non-technical readers. I believe the best ideas emerge when we make complex concepts accessible and engage in open dialogue.

I'm excited to share these ideas and learn from your perspectives. Whether you're an academic, technologist, business leader, or simply curious about how AI might shape our future, I hope you'll join the conversation.

Let's explore these emerging possibilities together!
